Action Plan:

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why our brains choose to spend most the time thinking about crappy things! Ok, maybe it’s just me, but ugh! So often, I really have to strain myself to think of good things even though they are right in front of me.

I like to blame it on our culture (‘cuz, you know, I gotta blame someone). I think we are trained to look for what needs attention – what needs to be fixed. We don’t really train ourselves to marvel at and appreciate what we love. We just take that for granted. But, when you really think of it, we are made from love; it is an essential part of who we are. We need to re-train ourselves to remember that!

So today, spend 5 minutes thinking about anything you love. And this can be anything … your mom or pizza, don’t judge it! You can make a list or just think of one thing. No matter what you do, really get into it. Think about specific things you love about this person or place or thing and how it makes you feel. Close your eyes and really feel it.

Give this feeling a color, and imagine it filling your body. Let it fill you. If you fill up and start spilling over, see if you can send those great feelings to someone you love or just out into the world. If you don’t feel full yet, that’s ok to just keep it for yourself for right now.

Even if this only makes you feel a little bit better, rejoice in the fact that you feel a little bit better! And remember …. you always have this power … this is your Super Power!
