I am pretty damn clever, if I do say so myself!
We all have so many ideas in our heads; some of them even oppose each other. So how do we know which thoughts to listen to and when? This has been a struggle for me most of my life. I had always had difficulty making decisions because I never focused on doing what I know is right for me; I focused on what I should do or what is expected of me.
Unfortunately, this meant that I eventually forgot what my intuition sounded like. I ignored her for so many years that I started to envision her as this pissed off little fairy who would sit in the corner tossing playing cards into her upturned little gnome hat while throwing out the occasional half-hearted message that usually end with...
You are clever! And I’m not just talking about “book smarts”, which I’m sure you also have in abundance, but I’m talking about all that you just know through your intuition. Intuition is defined as: Knowing, sensing the truth without explanation; direct perception of truth independent of any reasoning process; From the Latin word intueri, meaning “to see within.”
Take 5 minutes today (more time, if you have, but set a timer for at least 5), to write down what you know to be true for you. Sit with your journal, pen in hand, close your eyes and say something like, “Ok, my little intueri, show me whatcha got!”
These can be big truths (your religious beliefs), or small ones (I eat kale because it’s good for me, but day-um, that stuff is awful). Don’t judge them; just let them flow. Let your intuition know that you’re ready to listen again … and are open to be inspired.
