Action Plan:

When I’m in a bad place and/or I feel badly about myself, I tend to forget what a good person I am. It’s so hard to think of others when we’re feeling like shit. We’re so caught up on our own stuff that we sometimes can’t see beyond ourselves.


The crazy thing is, doing something for someone else MAKES US FEEL BETTER! It actually releases all the good shit in our brain that makes us feel good. It’s fucking science, man!


Plus, we are reaching out to people which is also so important when we’re low. I know I tend to withdraw from my friendships when I’m in a bad place, which just ends up making things worse.


So, today, think of something loving and kind you can do for someone and do it. BTW, if you only have 5 minutes, don't choose, build my neighbors house! Be practical … and PS, small things are sometimes the best!


Here are some ideas:

Send a text to a friend or family member to say you love them

Kick it old school and write someone you love a letter

Bring someone lunch or dinner or coffee

Pay for the person behind you in the drive-through lane

Do one of your roomate’s, spouse’s, or kids’ chores


For today it’s ok if you don’t do anything anonymously. There will be plenty of time to do that later when you’re in the upper spiral. Right now, let someone see your good deed and receive their appreciation. You need that extra boost right now … and that’s okay!
