I align myself with the flow of the universe.
So, you may be asking, “How do I do this exactly?” Well, I’m going to use riding a Segway as a metaphor for aligning ourselves with the natural flow of life. If you don’t know what a Segway is, check it out HERE. I’ll wait….
The secret to riding a Segway is to lean into the direction you want to go and to lean back when you want to stop. If you want to go faster, you lean forward more. You don’t even need to worry about balancing on the Segway if you just gently lean. It helps to always be looking in the direction you’re going and to pay attention to what you’re doing. Also, it’s a good idea to be mindful of where you are at all times and of obstacles along the way.
When you reach an obstacle, it’s no big deal, you just need to stop for a minute and assess. You can sometimes go around it or over it. Some obstacles are large enough, that you’ll decide to turn around and go a different way. If you have to do this, just realize that’s okay … there are some places a Segway won’t go and if you have to go back and find another way, at least you can still enjoy the ride.
I know it has handles, but they are just there to help you balance. You must never try to over-control the Segway by yanking or pulling the handles in the direction you want to go. If you do this, it becomes unstable and wonky, which of course, can make you nervous and panicky. You can still get someplace that way, but it’s a much less enjoyable ride.
Oh, and don’t forget to stop here and there, have a snack and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Have a nice ride!
